Professor Xiaowei liu is the PhD in internal medicine, works as chief physician, doctoral tutor Director of the Department of Gastroenterology of Xiangya Hospital, Central South University. He is also the Director of the International Science and Technology Cooperation Innovation Base for Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Diagnosis and Treatment of Digestive Diseases in Hunan Province, Director of the Hunan Branch Center of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Digestive System Diseases.

He mainly focuses on autoimmune-related digestive diseases, such as autoimmune liver disease, and inflammatory bowel disease. He has presided over 8 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, won the second Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Hunan Province, and published more than 60 SCI papers in journals such as Gastroenterology and Nature Communication as the first or corresponding author.
